What does Rec Radar® do?
Rec Radar
provides a Web-based community service for ethical and professional recruitment agencies that work together for mutual advantage. The service enables agencies to earn commission from split placements by trading jobs and candidates with other agencies. Rec Radar
not only helps professional recruiters to increase their profits, but also helps to improve the overall well-being and success of the recruitment industry.
How does the Rec Radar® 'Recruitment Radar' work?
Recruitment agencies join the Rec Radar
network for an annual fee and can list unlimited positions or candidates. Each recruitment agency has one membership and one account. The membership allows for multiple agents/ recruitment consultants, affiliated to that member, to use their account.
Job Listings - In your account, you can list the jobs for which you want to find candidates. The number of jobs listed in your account is unlimited in number and a bulk upload facility is provided. These job listings appear on your radar for 2 months. After 2 months, the job listings either fall off your radar or you can renew them.
You can manage your job listings by adding new jobs, amending job details, viewing selected details of potential matching candidates and messages from other agencies about candidate matches. You can also correspond with other agencies, mark a job as 'position filled' and offer feedback about the process and your trading partner to the community.
Candidate Listings - In your account, you can list (upload) details of candidates for which you want to find jobs. The number of candidates in your account is unlimited. Again, these candidates appear on your radar for 2 months. After 2 months, the candidate listings either fall off your radar or you can renew them.
You can manage your candidate listings by adding new candidates, amending candidate details, viewing selected details about potential matching jobs and messages from other agencies about job matches. You can correspond with other agencies, mark a candidate as 'placed' and offer feedback about the process to the community.
You can also search the network for job and candidate listings and create a watch list.

Back to top >>Who can become a member?
Only registered recruitment agencies can become members of Rec Radar
. Each application to join the network is rigorously assessed by Rec Radar
and prospective members must supply information about their business as part of the registration process including:
- Company name and registration number
- Physical and postal addresses
- Information about staff numbers, years spent trading, number of offices and affiliated companies' accounts departments
- Details of their company profile, core areas of business, processes and guarantees
- Contact details for two business references.
In addition, all applicants will be required to read and accept Rec Radar
Terms and Conditions.
How long does it take to become a member?
Once your application has been assessed and accepted by Rec Radar
, you will be granted full membership rights within 48 hours. If membership payment to Rec Radar
is not received within 7 days, membership rights will be withdrawn and accounts suspended.
Where do the candidate and job listings come from?
All the candidate and job listings within the Rec Radar
network are provided by its members. Candidates and employers visiting the site may also submit their details. Their details will be assigned to the most appropriate agency by Rec Radar
and an agency may then choose to work with that person independently, or place them on the radar.
What is the involvement of Rec Radar®?
Rec Radar
is a facilitator, not an agency, and is at no time involved in the placement of jobs or candidates or involved in a preferred supplier agreement. Rec Radar
aims to ensure that its members work with each other with trust and respect.
How does Rec Radar® regulate its members' behaviour?
The feedback from agents and members is important in helping to ensure reputable and professional behaviour. Agents will automatically be asked to provide feedback about the agents they have worked with. This feedback will be used to collate a Member Rating.
Member Rating Scores - The rules for Member Ratings are easy to follow and to implement:
- Position filled: add 2 points
- Candidate placed: add 2 points
- Good feedback: add 1 point
- Negative feedback: subtract 1 point
Before you decide to trade jobs and candidates with other agencies, we recommend you review their Member Rating. We also suggest that you keep in regular touch with the agent you're working with through the private chat section, as good communication will significantly enhance your relationship with each other.
Note: Rec Radar
is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability for damages of any kind arising out of use, reference to, or reliance on any information contained within the site.
Why should I put my candidates on Rec Radar®?
If you have a candidate on the books, but no suitable job for them, Rec Radar
provides a quick solution ensuring not only that candidates find their new position through an agency, but also that the recruitment industry remains buoyant. You can agree to work with a candidate as their sole agent, but indirectly give them access to jobs listed by Rec Radar
members.
Why should I put my jobs on Rec Radar®?
If you have the jobs, but no suitable candidates for them you won't provide the recruitment solution your clients are looking for. By using the Rec Radar
community of recruitment agents, you can tell your clients that you will open this position up to other agencies if you have not found a suitable candidate for the job within a specific timeframe. Your clients will only deal directly with you.
How do I control information about my jobs or candidates?
You have full control over when and to whom your jobs and candidate details are provided. You need only release more information to another agency when you have made an agreement with them to split the commission.
When you upload information about your jobs or your candidates to the Rec Radar
network, you provide the following details:
For Jobs - For job listings, you provide Rec Radar with the following information: job title, short teaser description, in-depth job description, job location, guarantee option preference, salary range and agency commission.
You are not required to provide details about the employer. All other details are displayed. Agents viewing your job listings can get in touch with you via the message board displayed after the in-depth job description.
For Candidates - For candidates' listings, you provide Rec Radar with: the candidate's name, contact details, position required, preferred location, a short teaser and an in-depth description about the candidate including their experience, salary range and guarantee option preference.
The candidate's contact details cannot be viewed by other agents on the network until you decide to release this information to them. Details about the candidate's preferred salary and location will be displayed.
Agents viewing your candidate listings can get in touch with you via the message board displayed after the in-depth candidate description.
Back to top >>How are other recruitment agencies prevented from poaching my candidates?
Other recruitments agencies can't poach your candidates because they have no way of knowing how to contact them, until such time that you decide to release that information to them.
You need only release information to another agency, when you have agreed to trade. Rec Radar
terms and conditions will have been agreed to when a member lists a job or candidate on the network. This becomes a formal agreement with all 3 parties agreeing to abide by the community's rules.
Feedback on the service and conduct of community members is invited from both agencies and the candidate. Unprofessional conduct, or conduct by an agency contravening the spirit of the Rec Radar
community, means they may be suspended or banned from the network.
How are fees split on placement?
The fee split will depend on the agreement between the two agents (see terms and conditions).
For the guarantee option, each agency will receive 47.5% of the fee. The no guarantee option will see the placing agency receive 65% and the candidate-sourcing agency receive 30%.
Once the placement is confirmed through the Rec Radar
system, either 52.5% or 35% of the fee is payable to Rec Radar
within 14 days of the candidate's start date.
Once Rec Radar
has received this payment, Rec Radar
will deduct its 5% fee and the funds will be forwarded to the candidate-sourcing agent within 48 hours. This figure will be less any bank and international transfer fees and will be based on the bank's currency rate at the time, if applicable.
